I am going to try micro dosing Psilocybin mushrooms. For whatever reason in Canada you can just order that stuff online even if it's not legal. I am hoping it will help. All I want to do is stay alive for my parents without it being a constant state of suffering. They don't deserve to lose a child. Has anyone had any luck with it? It seems promising.

Unfortunately I do not have experience with microdosing, but I did do some research on the legality of psychedelic mushrooms a few years back when I was researching how to grow blue oyster shell mushrooms for culinary purposes. My understanding is that buying or selling psychedelic mushrooms in the US (and most other countries) is illegal, but the spores for the mushrooms "may" be legal to purchase. Granted Canada might be different, but in the US the spores for psychedelic mushrooms are "legal" to buy/sell and are sold openly via several companies easily found by Google or even Etsy for the purpose of making microscope slides for scientific study. I believe the legal loophole is that the spores themselves don't contain Psilocybin. It becomes illegal as soon as you start to grow them.

I have no experience but know someone who did that in Canada and it was all good on their end.

You’d have to look it up but I’ve heard if you soak them in lemon juice, it makes it easier to get down and works better. It’s a whole method so I would research it. I’ve never down shrooms but very curious about microdosing.

Let us know if you end up doing it!

I tried this at the beginning of the year. Sadly didn’t help me. I dried them, ground em up and measured out the dosages with a precision scale. Started with 0,3 g. I took a couple of days off between dosages to see if I could feel any differences. The last one I took was 1,0 g and that didn’t do anything either.

It has helped other people so maybe it’ll work for you. Wishing you good luck.

I cannot add a personal anecdote to the conversation, but I read a couple review studies and the results are somewhat mixed. As is generally the case, personal beliefs differ from study observations; though it may still benefit you for your desired purpose.

Overall, these findings suggest several disconnects between the popular narrative around microdosing and the experience of microdosers in this sample. Participants in Study One microdosed less often than is recommended in most online protocols and did not report that many of the immediate effects of microdosing lasted beyond the day of dosing. Although popular accounts of microdosing describe sustained boosts in productivity and creativity [1618], the longer term effects we identified mainly involved reduced mental distress and changes in constructs such as absorption and mind wandering that are not as commonly discussed. This suggests that microdosing may lead to more subtle changes characterised by improvements in mental stability, the capacity to sustain attention and increased ability to become engaged in intense imaginative experiences.

The most surprising finding was that neuroticism also appeared to increase following microdosing. This is not something that is discussed in popular accounts of microdosing and was not what participants expected in Study Two. This highlights an important and under discussed aspect of microdosing: not everyone has a positive experience. Although the majority of participants’ comments were positive (and even glowing), there were a subset of comments that reflected unease about microdosing (see Table 5). In a context of considerable hype around the practice of microdosing, particularly with regards to it’s potential as a business tool, it important to acknowledge that microdosing may not be universally beneficial. These findings highlight the need for further research into the full range of microdosing effects (positive and negative) and also for investigations into subtypes of individuals who may particularly benefit from or be adverse to the practice.

I do not know what guide you are referencing for dosages, but it seems the 'less is more' approach fits. Keep a journal to track changes, because I imagine this is something that may shift your mental state and perspective further from your normal state than what you may perceive to be the case.

Yeah we do have that loophole. There are also sites where you can just buy mushrooms now, and it's not legal but it seems to be ok.

Thanks! I ordered some tablets and they should be here within the week. I will definitely update :)

I am sorry it didn't help. I hope that you can have something else that helps. I find tripping on mushrooms helpful, but I have also noticed that with my psychedelic use it's helpful for a moment and then I will struggle again. I'll see how it goes.
Thank you for this, and this seems pretty balanced. I notice with psychedelics people always hype them up and often ignore and discredit more negative experiences. Hopefully they will help but I will see.
