Maybe it’s a silly question but I wondered if anyone else thinks about this? I’m struggling badly with my hygiene right now due to depression and have zero energy to shower most days. I don’t even know why I’m thinking about this ugh. I feel like I need to be showered and clean first. I’m guessing dead bodies never have a good smell so should I just not care?

I care. I plan on making sure im put together.
Hair, makeup, nails all done. Save legs, etc. 😂
Going to buy something cute but comfortable to wear.
It sounds so silly and shallow, but I always feel better when I think I look good.
I want to go out feeling good about myself, even if it is only on the surface.

You're not alone since I've fallen into depression I probably shower maybe once a month now but whenever it comes time for that I'm definitely going to make sure that I'm clean. I don't care about getting all dressed up or any of that because it's not like I'm going to stay that way anyway. Who am I trying to impress the coroner and the police?
Whatever makes people feel comfortable though. I don't blame anyone for getting dolled up or for doing what makes them feel good I'm just too depressed to care anymore.

Yeah, sorta. I guess just try to clean yourself up real nicely before you go. Knowing me I’ll probably end up cleaning my entire house then putting on something real nice and then just OD afterwards.

Yes lol... i think I want to decorate an area to od in
That’s a great idea.
Whatever helps make you more comfortable.
I think I’ll consider that as well.
I’d like to go out as comfortably and peacefully as possible.
Soft lighting, maybe some music.
Whatever it takes.

Sort of. I don’t want people to find me when I’m way into my decomposition process. It’s like you don’t want them to find you too early, but too late would not be good either.. the poor clean up people in that case. Ugh this is so gross

Same for me. I haven't cared about my hygiene in a long time, but I plan to be clean when found.
It doesn't make sense since it's obvious I won't be with a nice appearance when dead, but whatever.

I plan to make sure I’m well dressed and clean. I want to look like I left this earth peacefully

If I eventually do it, I want to go into the woods or a place were they won't find me. At least not for awhile.

My preferred method is a shotgun loaded with buckshot, so not really, lol. I also plan to go as deep into the woods as I can get, in order to avoid being found anytime soon. With luck, all other humans will ever have to look at are scattered bones.

My bones are extra fabulous though, so I know I’ll look great.

No, as I would simply not be alive at that point. To care about how you look is something that can only bother the living, not the dead. One needs the ability to be conscious to be able to care about anything.

I shower each day anyway, and my head will be enclosed with the EEBD hood on--It will be late at night to minimize any chance of interruptions, will be wearing just a pair of shorts--dead body smell depends on how long until you're found of course--Patti's brother(420 lbs, 55, heart attack) was dead 4 days in the heat, just sitting in his chair, windows were open with screen, when we found him--It was like a formaldehyde smell(if you remember that smell from Chemistry class)

I don't want to be naked or have wet myself or anything, but other than that I'm not bothered.

I used to really worry I would die with my eyes open! For some reason, that really freaked me out.

I also feel really bad that I'm overweight for the people who would have to dispose of me. If I one day manage to ctb, I will likely do it in the garage for the easiest access.

Really though- all death isn't pretty I suspect. I have only seen my Grandma after she passed and it was very disturbing- her mouth was wide open. It was so strange that it was her but with nobody home as it were.

I guess the people who have to dispose of bodies have seen it all.

Doesn't SN leave the discoloration all over your body?

And when blood flow stops, control of bodily functions cease.

I'll be showered, shaved, and dressed (as in not nude), but that's it. No major efforts. Hair keeps growing after you die, anyway, for a while.

Nah. People go through spasms before they die all the time, particularly from hanging. Who cares anyways. I do hope that I don’t have a scream face or whatever, though.

I've seen pictures of dead people that don't seem to have cyanosis on their face w/ the exception of their lips. who knows?
Maybe that's right. Yeah, who knows? They've got make-up for all that, anyway.

I can care less about looks, particularly because it won't be anyone that I know who finds me, and I already have a direct cremation all arranged and paid for.

I don't care how well I look for my autopsy.

I know about the mouth being wide open how disturbing that is. I’ve seen that when both my parents died. The muscles in your jaw relax so that’s why it happens

I'm sorry to hear both your parents have gone. It is a very strange thing to see a body you are so familiar with inanimate. My Dad always says the body is only a shell and it made a lot of sense seeing her like that.

Kind of even stranger- when we went to say goodbye at the funeral home, they had wired her jaw closed. What an odd job that must be... Wonder how they feel about death being around it all the time.

I always thought this- that your hair and nails keep growing after death but apparently- it's your skin drying out and shrinking back that makes it look like your hair and nails are longer. (Think I watched some YouTube interview with a mortician and it was on there...)
