Hey guys and gals, I just saw an ad for a company called Mindbloom. Idk how tf this could be legal, but they’re advertising 6 at-home ketamine infusions over 3 months for $1,157.

Does ketamine help? Is the price reasonable? How much does insurance typically pick up? I have some.

Some people swear by it and others say it doesn’t work at all.

What will you be using it for?

Idk. Treatment-resistant depression?

Some people use it for chronic pain also, and again, it works for some but not for others.

I suppose it’s worth a try to see how you respond to it, but it’s not exactly cheap as I’m sure you’re aware. Then again I’ve seen courses of ketamine infusions that are way more expensive than the one you mentioned.

They’re also now looking into micro-dosing psilocybin for depression (the same substance found in “magic mushrooms”) which they aim to make available in a nasal spray form. When this will become available, or if it even will become available, remains to be seen.

I’ve always been interested in alternative substances because I can’t take antidepressants due to the side-effects I get from them.

I’ve tried ketamine recreationally in my “wild days” and all I can say is that it gave me a very strange vibe, so I can’t be sure what it’ll do to me if I had to use it for depression in a clinical setting.

Ketamine is basically keeping me alive. It's a life-saving drug. Without it I would be actively planning to CTB (I was doing so until my SO bumped up my dose/frequency). I take it at home using research chemical analogues I got from online but if you can afford the infusions & the provider has good reviews I would recommend it.

$1157 for six at-home infusions?? Like, someone comes to you to administer the drug intravenously? That seems like a really good price. six doses spaced out over three months might be a long time depending on how you respond, I need it at least once a week.

r/TherapeuticKetamine is a good reddit for discussing clinical ketamine use, they don't allow discussion of DIY treatment though so I don't post on there. I don't like spaces that are too gatekeepy. IMO clinical ketamine treatment can be a grift sometimes, the cost of one treatment buys a lot of street K, and that sub isn't the place to challenge that.

It looks like I misunderstood their listing. Looks like they give you tablets? Idk if that’s as effective.

According to PsychonautWiki, sublingual K is about half as effective as insufflated and about a quarter as effective as intramuscular. Actual effects would depend on the dosage.

Mindbloom says insurance won't cover it.

In the US you could try Spravato, which is more expensive, but I assume would be covered.

I looked into prescription ketamine... and it looks like there's a nasal spray, but it's $500 - $890 per dose.. and you need 8 doses in the first month?! that's 7 fucking thousand dollars.

Well -> fuck my mental health. Back to the ineffective shit.

Jesus Christ...On the plus side, it will probably turn out to be bunk just like every other psychiatric treatment ever conceived.

I freaking hope so. It's so sick... like, here's a treatment that's for people that don't fucking respond to anti-depressants, and it works spurprisingly well. AND it's legal and prescribed. But SURPRISE -> it'll cost you 7k ! This country is fucked.

What’s funny is that the severely treatment-resistant depressed are more likely to be poor too, so it seems doubly cruel. If you’re talking about USA, yep, this country is fucked.

I wouldn't do it myself since ketamine should be avoided when you have facial surgeries, which is my case.
Be very careful with that, it can impair recovery afterwards.
Otherwise I don't know, it seems Ketamine is useful in the short-term?

Idk, I tried Ketamime like 8 years ago, but I'm the kind of guy who likes drugs, I couldn't restrain myself from using more. Loved it until not, if keeping a lower dose surely could help.

The price, imo it's an awesome business for the sellers, Ketamime is cheap as hell, at least in Mexico, however difficult to obtain due to new drug policies.

I would surely enjoy a microwaved 100mL bottle and would probably last me s week, or weekend but I've been there, no permanent change.

If rightly dose probably that bottle should last a month or more, I suppose tiny amounts are used.

You could also look for psylociblin mushrooms and grow them yourself?

The price of ket, is high but if you can afford it, I would. Hell I've tried everything until I found TRT and Dianabol it's a great boost, plus blood checkups, which I took yesterday. 2out4 blood tests came perfect, today I'll receive next two.

Price: High, depends on your if you need a test, take it .
Best wishes

It's better absorbed if you snort it rather than in pills. I saw one research paper where K pills were given in old age home, and it helped a large percentage of depressed elderly patients, so there is some research that pills can help. Snorting is better absorbed though. Some of the treatment companies are moving to pills because Covid! So it means it can be administered remotely.
ps, for me it is life-saving and life-changing. 30mg insulfated every other day.

So are you currently undergoing treatment, or did you complete a course? I am just skeptical about the effectiveness long term if you stop taking it.

Really would you considered it life saving? 30mg? That's a small dose, can you restrain yourself from a higher dose?

How long have you been using it?

I tried Ketamine for Treatment resistant depression approx. 5 yrs ago. I went to a psychopharmacologist who had been involved in some clinical trials. Bottom line, after 8 treatments at $2,000 USD a treatment, I felt that I had just thrown away a lot of money.
A month later, I noticed the doctor had just bought a brand new Tesla.

I'm not sure if I should laugh or get mad at. Specially Ketamine being so cheap.

Cheap off the street? Medical always adds a huge markup. Doctors have to use drugs too, my guy!
