I was calling around town trying to get a mental competency evaluation for assisted suicide and one of the receptionists called the police. I was being completely professional the whole time.

4 armed cops then show up and interrogate me for 30 minutes. After I explained my physical health situation and the reason I was contacting the mental health people they understood and left my apartment. I asked them if they would want to live in constant pain for 50 years and I think they understood my point of view.

In the previous week there had been a murder/suicide by an elderly couple where they both had failing health.
They both wanted to die. First they tried carbon monoxide in the garage and it did not work for them. Then the husband shot the wife and killed her. He then shot himself but lived, and is now being charged for murder. He is at the hospital now. I feel really bad for this man. It should not have had to happen like that. There should be medical services in place for those who have no quality of life left and wish to exit.

He did an interview at the hospital bed and says to the cop charging him, "Do whatever you have to do."

That man had true strength.

Thank you Anna. I am sorry that you have ended up here as well.

The notion that I hear expressed frequently is something like: "Better to have never been, than to have been at all." I agree 100% with this. If our parents had been more thoughtful we would not have to be here.

Thanks Dano
I love David Benatar.
I also agree with this. It is a selfish act.
Not only because of the pain we suffer, but also because of the pain we cause to others.

It is particularly annoying in my case because my mother admits she only had me so she wouldn't be alone when she gets old.

Well, guess what, she isn't getting her wish.

Sorry you had to go through that.

Thanks. I never imagined it would be so hard to find someone who can make a declaration of mental competency. I have called dozens of providers and none can do it. I do not even tell them the reason is for assisted suicide. I just request the competency thing.

That is pretty bad she just had you for company. Giving birth to a "toy" or "companionship" is probably the greatest heights of selfishness. That is how parents are. Me, myself, and I.

We see all these stories about sick and dying children in hospitals and it makes me angry and disgusted. They would not have to go through that pain if the parents did not pursue their own selfishness.

My mother's reason is more stupid... She only had me because babies are very cute and she wanted one. But she didn't stop to think babies grow. When I was a teenager she had regrets for having me but there was no backtrack.

That is really silly. I kinda had to help raising my younger brother, and for me babies and young kids are the devil. I find my 80 years old granma cuter than a baby.

Kids are manipulative and really have no sense of ethics, there is nothing cute about them.
Old people, however, these fuckers have been through enough so you just want to embrace them for their efforts.

I’m really really surprised they just left. If you were to now CTB they would be in a world of hurt for not taking steps to have you put under observation.

I can empathize with you. My mom told me I saved her because when I was born and ‘no one loved her’ I was there to ‘maul her’ as she put it.

I'm sorry this happened to you, but I'm not surprised. This same overzealousness in the medical community is what led to a set of "recommendations" by the CDC in regards to opioids being taken as gospel and subsequently, the entire chronic pain community being left to suffer and CTB. The medical community is a toxic entity.

In my case it is really hard not to resent her at times. Not only she put me on this world, she eventually turned her back on me (kinda) when she had a son 16 years ago. I guess he was a better fit for a pet than me.

I'm so sorry you had to go through this, but you are very lucky that you weren't committed to a psychiatric hospital. I'm surprised the cops were so understanding...

I think they only let me off because I am seeing a psychologist, a psychiatrist, Im on depressions meds, Im doing depression worksheets from the counselor, Im on sleep meds, and all the mental health people know I am trying to get the assisted suicide.

At the end of the day i do all of these things and I am still in physical pain 24 hrs/ day. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in Treating Depression is what Im doing now. I am unsure if it is helping mentally to accept 50-60 years of pain.

I really can't stand when people do this, that receptionist had no right to do that, nor did the police have any right to interrogate you. What really annoys me is that these are the same people that are confused as to why people don't "go and get help". I wonder why...

I told the cops that I am no criminal. I have always been a law abiding citizen. You just reach a point where the physical pain is too much for too long and the quality of life is gone.
