I came here because i wanted advice on how to do it, especially the CO method. But it's become a kind of way of life coming to this forum. I think about killing myself every single day for months and on and off for years, decades.

We all like to talk and think about committing suicide because we are very pissed off with how life is, and it is very shitty indeed quite a lot if not all of the time. But it's not as if the people coming here are like lemmings off the cliff face. I know this live/die dilemma is reflected in other threads and it's not a pro suicide forum, just a pro choice forum. Some are more serious than others and we all would simply prefer just not to be having to deal with daily life anymore as it's become too gruesome. I got lots of advice about method but it has made me realise that i missed contact with people who are open minded about not just suicide, but life in general. It's grim and i will end up doing myself in sooner or later because it's inevitable but between now and then, you've helped me get from day to day.

Agreed. It's comforting to know this place exists. I think the desire to commiserate is huge, even if we're not imminently suicidal. It's great that we can be open, negative and honest all at once. If you think about it, there's no real-world opportunity for that, other than therapy at $100 an hour.

Yes, that's pretty much my point, that we're all still here after the few months i've been around. No matter how fucked up someone is feeling they want to be in a genuine discourse, otherwise they wouldn't have posted hundreds of messages. It doesn't mean they are not suicidal, just human. There are detailed discussions about methods for sure but i see a lot of other issues being discussed, in fact the majority, about life experiences and other ideas not directly related to method. It's the only place where i can find some semblance of honesty. There may well be some bullshitters around but anyway, you get that everywhere.
