C’mon @whatevs, I know you are a lot more politically savvy to actually believe that ludicrous trope the left uses against Trump and his allies. It’s racist and stupid.

Haha, it was just something humorous that came to mind. I personally don't believe in Trump or respect him, so there's something amusing to me in imagining that he posts that kind of image on Instagram with the white supremacy caption.

Like [REDACTED] or [REDACTED] have said many times, there's no political solution. Real change will only come about when people are willing to take or give lives for what they believe in. It's always been that way. As soon as some group tries to actually challenge the System you'll see how quickly they are attacked or robbed of their finances, all supported by the Law, proving that all peaceful 'solutions' are just making time for the frogs to be boiled alive in the slowly heating pot.

Although he was perhaps the biggest mass murderer in history, Mao Zedong was right when he said in a meeting of the CCP in 1927, "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun." That goes for all sides of the political spectrum.

I didn't start the low blows, the right winger did with his condescending picture of greta thunberg.

But I guess right wingers are special snowflakes who can't take what they dish out? So much for free speech.

You might be right that someone else started with an inflammatory tone, actually. But it's a problem we all have. It's true that often we feel that what the other group wants or is doing is unnaceptable to the point of physical resistance to it, but IMO it's also useful to consider if it's worth it to always frame politics in terms of enmity.

We could theoretically frame it as diverisity and agree to disagree and just let the other group live like they want, but apparently we all have to agree on how to live and put up with each other, since globalization is assumed instead of separation. And people that control media, science and academia are dictating what the ideal way of living is, obviously. This is exactly what a technocracy would be.

The law is much more wide ranging than that. Anything considered "age inappropriate" is banned, which for bible thumpers, is the entirety of being gay.
Exactly! The only thing I would have added would be the entirety of being gay, lesbian, bi, questioning, or especially trans.

In a comservative state, many conservative judges will rule unfairly against gay people. The fact that this risk doesn't occur to you tells me that lgbt rights mean nothing to you

First of all it's not just sexual preferences it's gender identity. Second, I think that straight teachers will not face this level of scrutiny.

If you want to fairly apply this law, all mention of marriage and romance in childrens stories e.g. disney should be removed from school discussions. Or is it that only straight marriage and rlmance can be discussed according to you? If so, then you are homopobic and anti lgbt rights.
The other side could throw the same back at you and say that in many blue states, the judge will rule unfairly to the parents that may have a legitimate concern. Overall, if you feel that your judge has a bias, there are legal paths you can take to try to overcome that. What you can not do is to place the rights of a group on top of the rights of another because you believe some impartiality may occur. The parents have the right to sue the school district if they deem something inappropriate is being lectured to their children, and the other side has the right to countersue that.

Also, all teachers face severe levels of scrutiny. That is something that comes with the job. There is a code of conduct that you need to follow, even outside work, when you choose to follow this profession, especially if you're dealing with children.

Lastly, I would like to point out that you could have made the same arguments without resorting to unnecessary name-calling and innuendos. I'll refrain from answering you further for that reason. I don't believe you're capable of engaging in a mature discussion on any topic without accusing people of being homophobic/nazi/racist/fascist/ for disagreeing with you. Some people may enjoy that type of conversation. I'm not the one. Have a good night.

I cant think of a valid concern that parents should need to have about "age inappropriate" subject matter related specifically to LGBT issues once a child is in high school. Sexual issues, maybe, but nothing LGBT specific. So this mythical contesting rights group doesn't exist.

I'm sorry but you are a homophobe and a transphobe. I have clearly broken your ego by pointing that out, but the fact that you think there might be a valid issue with children being aware of gay couples but not straight ones (straight couples are often shown in childrens media and stories) is homophobic.

You’re not an American, you have no clue what’s it’s like to live in a fukin hellhole neighborhood in the bluest of blue cities surrounded by mayhem, crime and violence everyday. I blame soft on crime liberal politicians for all the muggings, assaults and burglaries I have endured throughout my life. At 62, it’s absolutely incredible I’m still alive.

That’s why I love Tucker, Mark Levin, Ben Shapiro and other conservative media types. Nothing they say will change anything, but their shows give me some brief respite from this insane ghetto that I live in.

Just because you can't think of one reason doesn't mean there isn't one. The world doesn't revolve around you. Your issues and opinions aren't the only ones that deserve to be taken into consideration.

Quoting myself: "Since the purpose of this bill is to assure parents' rights over the education of their children, if they find something on the curriculum they deem inappropriate, I believe it's a perfectly reasonable action to notify the principal or sue the school district if the former doesn't reach a resolution."

Everyone has the right to use the legal system if they choose to. It's not for you to decide who is allowed to do it or not. The case will be dismissed if it's an unreasonable one.

Exactly as I said. Thank you very much for proving my point. You may continue to knock down your straw man by yourself now.

I also apologize @whatevs My intention was only to post the link of the bill so people could make their own judgment over it. I should have known that I would be dragged into a discussion, lol. At least, I believe some of your inquiries were elucidated by it. More specifically: " When the Rainbow Army storms in, can I express my view on the evolutionary driven differences between men and women?" And "for me, it will always be necessary to have some cultural/ideological diversity. Most of people seem unable to tolerate actual diversity and are all about imposing their lifestyle and views on others."

The fact that you can't state any valid reason such parents would have is telling.

Once again, you're a homophobe, and I've explained why. On top of that, you have a huge ego that wishes to play the victim when your rights aren't the ones being taken away by law.

Idk if you're an infrequent visitor here but this entire subforum was set up so these same people who treat this place as a drop-off point for their obnoxious shite have a playground for their drivel, throughout this thread you've engaged in good faith and as much as l appreciate reading your posts in this thread you're only ever going to get two types of response to literally anything, either "HUR HUR LIBTARD WOKE SNOWFLAKE FREE SPEECH" or a wall of nonsensical supercilious bloat containing the word "strawman", trying to engage in good faith in this cesspit subforum with people who are determined to reshape this entire forum into a haven for blustery bigots is an absolutely futile endeavour.

While I fully agree with what you said, I would like to add that we need this cesspit. This way, we have a dedicated place to throw shit around when people run out of points in favor of their dogmata. We can seek out the cesspit when we feel up to it and tell people to go away (to the politics subforum) and leave us alone when we are handling emotional shit in other subforums.

Plus, occasionally, someone has actually been thinking and used good sources and brings something interesting to the table.

Didn't the Reagan/Bush squad and cia pump the streets with drugs? 🤔 I don't think any political party in the US operates with the best interest of the people in mind. I'm surprised people think this is the case given the outcomes. We're actually heavy handed on crime as a country. We have a massive prison population and harsh sentencing. I don't think more laws would make life better. Something is wrong with the American philosophy on life, right from education all the way to medical care and our humanity issues. I think we need a good culture evaluation.

Cities are filed with low income housing and poverty. Poverty and drugs don't mix well. I don't think slamming a huge number of humans into a city is good for our nature either. Our cities are ugly, stressful, and chaotic by design. You never see nature, your outdoor exploration is full of pollution and over-stimulation. There are healthy countries with better environments using left leaning policies and offering the best quality of life in human existence. The problem is more complex than left vs right.

Let's keep this conversation civil. I know politics gets the blood boiling.

Now that everyone seems to be finished with the baseless accusations against me, I'll return to the topic.

Some years ago I starting using this talking point with people, that we would see in the future some kind of physical altercation in many countries between the left and the right. Now it is looking more plausible every day.
Unfortunately, the physical altercation deserted the plausibility field and became an authentic occurrence. Where I reside, at least, I can see it happening, and I believe the issue is less ideological and more about the eagerness to defend politicians. The factuality is that most people lack the comprehension of what it means to be on the left or right side. They buy the distorted versions of it that their preferred leader sold them.

It is an effective tool to control the masses, applying the "divide to conquer" technique. Making people believe you are on their side when, most often than not, the "polarization" is an orchestrated fabrication. When you look behind the curtains of their theatrical concatenations, you are confronted with the reality. They are all friends despite their "opposition" façade, voting together on topics that will award them more political traction even when it goes against the wishes of their electors or the moral conduct they claim to have.
My conundrum with this is the following. In a polarized, violent society, what happens to the people that don't buy gregarious ideological packages? I try to form my own opinions, which aren't perfect nor exhaustive, and this results in having ideas about the ideal society from both camps. So when the Bible Thumper Army shows up, can I share my views on religion and how I don't think life is a gift? When the Rainbow Army storms in, can I express my view on the evolutionary driven differences between men and women?
You are smashed to the ground until you can't breathe anymore, and it's obliged to surrender by adhering to one of the sectors. Even when you're a part of it, you're not immune to the attacks if you dare to question the official narrative. If you refuse to comply with the complete set of rules imposed, you're ostracized and degraded.

The way they accomplish it, it's by trying to invalidate what you're saying by sticking labels on you, "homophobic, fascist, nazi, communist" seems to be the popular ones. The authenticity of it doesn't matter; anything auxiliary in the shifting of perception that you may be correct or to deviate the attention from an inconvenient truth will suffice.

There's nothing more detrimental to an authoritarian project of power than these people who think for themselves and are not afraid to speak their minds. A neutralization must occur at all costs. The true it's usually the first to die.
What I'm getting at is, why don't you fucking let people live like they want? Conservatives can have a territory and progressives another. Where people feel more fulfilled will have won. Why can we respect the culture of an aboriginal tribe because of its anthropological richness but we can't do the same with people on our countries or even world that want to live differently?

As humans, we seem to have this homogenization drive, which is about securing planetary power for a set of ideal and enforcing them, and I get it, that's a logical step in human evolution, but we really aren't there yet. There needs to be more experimentation and diversity first. And for me, it will always be necessary to have some cultural/ideological diversity. Most of people seem unable to tolerate actual diversity and are all about imposing their lifestyle and views on others. This happened with masks and vaccines most notably but has been happening for a long time.
Most people also refuse to listen. They are so stuck in their ways and drenched in their own egos to retrocede when necessary. It's also impossible to have mature and respectful discussions with someone that cannot express their arguments without attacking the other. I find it difficult to achieve any level of tolerance towards differences if we keep being censored when we try to express them. Anything that goes against the current predominant tought is repressed.

There's also something that I like to call the "white knight complex". They hold themselves in the highest esteem as the sole bastions of virtue and possessors of truth. They cannot fathom the idea of a group thriving without them. Especially if it's a minority or an impoverished nation.
